This Friday, November 20, Bonacquisti Wine Company will present Denver’s premiere of the acclaimed documentary film “Merlove,” at 6 p.m. in the historical Bug Theatre (3654 Navajo).

“Merlove” is a documentary film which addresses the unwarranted and devastating impact on Merlot wines as witnessed after the release of the 2004 movie “Sideways.” In the movie, the fictional character Miles, played by actor Paul Giamatti, slams Merlot in preference to Pinot Noir, which led to a boom in Pinot Noir sales and a drastic reduction in Merlot sales.

Join us for this exclusive Denver screening with the filmmaker Rudy McClain. Thanksgiving Wine 

Choosing the right wine to go with Thanksgiving dinner can be a challenging task given the wide assortment of food at the table. Don't look like a turkey this year, here's a few tips to help you look like a genius.  

As a rule of thumb, wines that are fruit driven and contain some sweetness will flow better.

It's a great time for rose`. Pink wine typically pairs well with roasted turkey and chicken pulling out the sweeter flavors. Our 2008 Colorado White Merlot is a full bodied rose' and brings it all to the table.

In the white category, wines that have the 3 F's, fresh, floral and fruity like our 2008 Colorado Riesling can be fun as an aperitif and pair nicely throughout dinner. 

For reds, Syrah and Zinfandel have the dark berry and spice to enhance cranberry sauces and turkey that has been prepared with a rub.
